the pancreas is an organ. it helps make insulin in the body. if someone is unable to produce insulin or they produce an insufficient amount they can be diabetic. diabetes is a complicated but manageable disease. they cannot replace it or do a transplant.

It’s not much if you have insurance. Can’t remember the exact cost. And you can always get them from Wilford Brimley.

Not everybody has the same symptoms but with diabetes type 1 you can:

* Be very thirsty
* Have to pee very often
* Have lost a lot of weight in little time
* Not see very well

The first two are very common.

You get diabetes type 2 when you are overweight.

Question by inzinariar: Chronic headache impedes proper rest with a Type 2 diabetes. How to treat it?
Her kidney is no longer functioning properly and that she has to undergo dialysis. Due to financial constraint, she forgoes it. Does it cause the headache?

Best answer:

Answer by Miz Lamb
It sounds like she has foregone lots of necessary treatments due to financial constraints. Like not controlling glucose levels before they damaged the kidneys severely.

Yes, the headache goes with both high glucose numbers and the fact that the kidneys are not working and will not get any better.

Lack of dialysis will hurry up her death. and with the constant severe headache will make her wish for it sooner.

Question by hysterical: Type 1 Diabetes, how long does it take for anger/irritability to subside after experiencing a high or low?
My daughter is 4 and she is REALLY moody from time to time. It seems to be only on the days when she was high or low. I know this is a side effect but I need to understand more. Since she isn’t able to convey her emotions through words yet please let me know what it feels like, from your experience. And what helps/doesn’t help, makes it worse/better, any advice from another type 1 diabetic would be helpful.
